Hello listeners. This weeks tune comes from some old dark places so I won't tell you what it's about so much, except to say that it's positive underneath, despite probably sounding not at all that way. Hopefully it's a nice listen for you anyways. Thanks for your time and ears. Below is a link to a drawing/video to go with the song:

Episode 215-F*knugget

Hello listeners. This weeks tune is a bit of reminiscence on the effects that way too much drinking can have on me, and how not doing that is good. It's also about self deprecation I guess, but not in a bad way, more aimed at past things than things happening today. There's some stuff about Jesus in there too, losing to win and the like, the conundrum that is seemingly awful behaviour being rewarded with success and gain and such, but maybe that gain is empty and attempting to do better in a human sense is more important. I hope so anyways. Hope it's a fun listen anyways, bit of swearing in there if that's not your thing. Thanks for your time and ears, and support.

Episode 214-The Leper, The Cripple & The Light Of The World

Hello listeners. I've been listening to a whole lot of 'The Innocence Mission' a band who sings songs about Jesus, (and a ton of other things), because they believe in the man, but not in a preachy way, in a really personal lovely, excellent way, I recommend you listen to them if you dig calming kinda sounds. Anyways that and my reconnection of late with the whole Jesus thing led to the writing of this song, which is not as calm as Innocence Mission, but is written like I would write a thing rather than just using words out of the Bible like 'worship' and 'hallelujah' and the like, (although hallelujah is a pretty good word). As always I'm not preaching at you, these are just things happening in my head, acceptance and the like from a higher power being not such a terrible idea to latch on to it seems. Hope it's a nice listen anyways, the idea is to find a way to sing about this stuff without alienating or excluding anyone, because it's a part of my experience and I write songs to share my experience. Thanks for your time and ears, here's a video/drawing to go with the tune:

Episode 213-Devils

Hello listeners. This tune was written on the bass, real simple, real dark sounding thing about memories of reading about King Herod sending men out to kill baby boys in case they were Jesus, because he was scared of losing his power, and how there's definitely some universal truth in that story that's fairly painful and also kind of happening everywhere, small scale, large scale, always. Anyways, hopefully you enjoy it, was fun to play and mix and the like.

Episode 212-It's Not Supposed To Be Ironic

Hello listeners. This weeks tune is a synth heavy, (it's all synth, bar the singing), song about reclaiming some Jesus/faith that I had all wrong for quite some time mostly I think but now am maybe understanding a little better. As always, no preaching intended, just what my own brain's been thinking about. It's also about forgiving people who've done you damage in the past who you can't ever really forgive in person but you can let the bitter bits rummaging inside you go away and feel a fair bit better, (eventually). Hopefully you enjoy it anyways. Below is a link for a video/drawing to go with it. Thanks for your time & ears.

Episode 211-Stand Up & Be A Man

Hello listeners. This weeks tune is about Church, about inching towards trusting church folks, opening up, I spent a ton of time in church as a kid and also as an adult, but I kind of let is slip away for a bit in recent history, this song will most likely come across as sounding negative but it's not, it's just about how everybody's flawed, and finding a place where people admit that and are focussing on love instead of guilt, and feeding from a greater source to guide them and such, is not such a bad thing. For me anyways, I definitely don't want to preach at anyone, this is just what's been in my brain and is hence what's in this song. It's also about vulnerability, how a church should be a place where that's not only OK but encouraged, and there's no judgement, just help and ears, because why else are we here, (I guess...?). I know this is an ideal vision of things that isn't ever the case entirely, but if were aiming at it at least then that's good right. The title of the song is borrowed from a partial life story I got from a chaplain at my work & pastor at the church I'm going to, in relation to the fact that 'standing up & being a man' is not about being a manly man man man, but should be about being your honest self.

Anyways, here's a drawing/video about all that to go with the tune:

Episode 210-Space Needle

Hello listeners. This weeks tune is about thing improving, looking back on disasters I've made and being super glad that I'm looking back at them. Probably doesn't come across as being about any of those things because the lyrics are kinda' all over the place, but it is, and maybe some other stuff. Hope it's a fun listen anyways, and thanks for your time & ears.
