Episode 208-Darwin's Morning Run

Hello listeners. This weeks tune is an anti-religion/pro-faith thing about how science and faith are not at all opposed to each other, (for me anyways, I'm not preaching). Science and religion can be opposed for sure, but faith is a different thing. I read this story about Charles Darwin as a child running to school and praying to Jesus to get him there on time and when he did being really super happy, admittedly he was probably just a fast runner but it's the heart involved that I liked and how religion kind of ruined that for him because science proved to him that religion was a massive liar. I was talking to some far smarter than me buddies about belief in a 'source' of all things, and have been getting back to church n such, trying to convert people is stupid but I have come across folks who just want the best for everyone, and I like that, people with faith are supposed to be like that. Writing about these things and retaining PC-ness on either side of the fence is difficult, but like I said, these are my thoughts, that's what songs are for, (among other things I know, but it always starts with thinking), I don't want to imprint them on anyone, I just want to sing about 'em.

Thanks for your time & ears and here's a video/drawing to go with the tune:

Episode 207-The See Through Girls Of Salem

Hello listeners. This weeks tune is about a person who's living in a house full of ghosts of people who've suffered tragic ends or seen the tragic ends of others, figures from history and the like. Some of them you might know, but I don't think it matters too much if you don't. Anyways, it's also just about me telling myself to cheer the f%^$ up. Hopefully it's a nice listen, it's not a super serious one. As always, you're time and ears and feedback are appreciated.

Episode 206-Shoelaces

Hello listeners, this weeks tune is a Banjo thing that's kind of fiction based on facts, other peoples and my own, about how strange it is to have been really close, (supposedly), to a person and then to not really know them at all. The people in the song don't exist, they're just fictional sort of archetypes I guess, and also fictionalising the thing gives me an excuse to slip in a dig at Apple and also at glue your child to a screen parenting techniques, (not that I haven't resorted to them myself a couple times). Anyways, the song is not super happy, but it is also a story rather than facts, which is good for me, cause I've written plenty of songs about absolute facts that are depressing as hell, fiction is nice, exploring dark stuff from a little distance away, its almost kinda fun, although I can relate to the fictional dude in this one. Anyways, that was a pointless rant, hope the song's a nice listen for you, I definitely had a ton of fun fleshing it out with bass 'n guitar and the like, so hopefully that translates to your ears and brains having fun also. As always always, thankyou so much for your time, and here's a drawing/video to go with the tune if such a thing is of interest to you.

Episode 205-God Doesn't Hate You

Hello listeners. This weeks tune is a finger picky Mandolin thing that's anti-religion, anti-needing a book to tell you how to do the right thing. I like the Christian Bible myself, mostly, there's some peaceful positive stuff in there, but I don't think it's meant to be used as a rule book and definitely not as a way to back up hate speech, either small or large scale, even though often times it definitely is and a lot of churches seem to run on making you feel bad about yourself. That's all ranty garbage though, the song is also just a song, it has feeling & meaning hopefully but those things can't be explained so much. Hope it's a nice listen anyways, and as always I appreciate your time & ears, and feedback and the like.

Episode 204-Faith

Hello listeners. This weeks tune is a gentle positive thing about trying to see things in a better light, hope, faith, all that stuff, nothing profound, just about people I guess, people can be total black holes for you to fall into, (and you can be that to other people too), but they can also be fantastic, (as can you). Hope it's a nice listen for you anyways, thanks for your time and ears. Here's a video/drawing to go with the tune:
